Thanks to everyone that made it out in-person to the All-hands meeting last Friday! Next time we’ll need to bump up the room size and pizza order! We had 35 people in person and another 16 from around the world on Zoom following along as we challenged ChatGPT to reproduce the results of one of the first Skunkworks research papers that was published back in 2018! It’s amazing to see how far things have come that we were able to do in around an hour what once took a year or more to accomplish!
Next Friday December 8th the Informatics Skunkworks will once again host an end of semester event to wrap up activities for the Fall 2023 Semester!
The meeting will be Friday Dec. 8th from 5:15pm-6:00pm and will be hybrid with in-person and remote activities. Food will be served and we’ll also get an updated group photo! The theme for the activities during the event this semester will be exploring capabilities for AI assistance when performing research. We’ll broadly be asking the question, can we replicate previous ML research results without writing any code ourselves, purely using AI?
We’re looking forward to seeing you there! The event is also open to prospective students and a great way to meet others involved and interested in learning about research applications for ML and AI!
