Our Generative Machine Learning in Materials Science project is a project focused on development of generative machine learning models for predicting new crystal structures with target properties. A grand challenge in materials science is the discovery of materials with novel properties that push the frontiers of science and enable new technologies. Generative machine learning models are a promising class of models that enable researchers to generate new candidate materials with target properties. This project will focus on the development of generative deep learning diffusion models that are trained on materials structures and properties with the goal of identifying promising new materials.
This project is specifically setup as a remote project and is open to anyone (this includes students both within and outside of UW-Madison).
